New Matter: Inside the Minds of SLAS Scientists
Scaling Up, Up and Away - Fellowship Follow-Up with David McIntyre
We've brought our SLAS Graduate Education Fellowship Grant 2021 winner, David McIntyre, from Boston University, back to the New Matter Podcast for a follow-up discussion.
David provides an update on his research with automating the design of microfluidics through rapid prototyping and machine learning for use in screening synthetic biological systems. We learn what interested him in microfluidic research, the uses cases for his systems and why David wants to work for a start-up in biotech.
The SLAS Graduate Education Fellowship Grant provides direct support to outstanding students pursuing graduate degrees related to life sciences R&D. This program helps to realize a fundamental tenet of SLAS’s mission: to advance the fields of laboratory science and technology by nurturing the next generation of professional scientists.
